Edward Kenway - digital painting by jodeee Edward Kenway - digital painting by jodeee
I promise I'll ease up on the Edward, I'm sure you're feeling
a little saturated  but I am really enjoying painting him.
besides, what am i meant to do until November?

I spent a little longer on this one. around 8 hours altogether I would
say. possibly one of my best portraits.

this is great! I wanted to guess that you used  corel painter, but
I know PS can give some beautiful texture when you blend as well.
Amazing work! I just love your gallery!

Thank you very much, Yeah it's PSE 8 so it's not even the
full adobe package, nor is it up to date I will have to look at "acquiring" a proper CS at some point
though. Thanks for checking out my gallery by the way

Hey no problem! And nice! I had a feeling it might have been PS,
since I've used it for some realisms myself, and have other friends
who use it for that as well! Its a glorious program haha!
Ohhhh did you hear that Adobe has been giving out the full version
of PS CS2? Its also a very good one to use! I have PS CS3, and
you can still blend nicely with that as well :D
(I just adjust the smudge tool so it smudges nicely)

And hey, you bet! Your gallery is wonderful!

I find that PS gets a bit laggy sometimes too if the smudge or
brush is very large. I will keep my eyes peeled for that. I used to have CS2 on my
laptop but it died a very sorry death :(

Thanks again :)

Oh yeah it does get really laggy for sure, that is,
unless you manipulate the brush dynamics!
If you add a scatter to the brush dynamics when you
have the smudge tool selected, and less of a
count under scatter, as well as somewhere around 25 for
spacing, you can get some nice ultra smooth blending.
As well as if you add some opacity dynamics.
(I'd play around with that, cause it can make some nice
and different styles of blending! Also, using different styles of
brushes, other than just a normal circle, can make a lot of
difference!)

Awww, I hate when that happens! I had to spend most
of my money recently on a new laptop > o > ug!

haha hey no problem! I hope you the best of luck with everything!
